Elsa Amanatidou is a Senior Lecturer in Modern Greek Studies in the Classics Department of Brown University. Concurrently, she is the Director of the Modern Greek Studies Program at Brown University and Director of the Ivy Plus Consortium for Language Teaching and Learning in the USA. She previously served as Head of Modern Greek Studies and Deputy Head at the Hellenic College of London, an independent, co-ed, bilingual school. Since 1989, she has been an Examiner and Principal Examiner for the General Certificate in Secondary Education (GCSE), A-Level, O-Level and International GCSE public examinations in Modern Greek, in the United Kingdom. She also serves on the undergraduate studies committee of the Modern Greek Studies Association (MGSA), the leading American professional organization in this area. Ms. Amanatidou received a BA in English Philology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1981), a MA in The English Novel from The University of East Anglia, a DTFLA from University of Edinburgh (1993) and a MA in Greek Studies from King’s College London (1995).
