New Friends and New Cultures: The Sequel

After the successful visit of eight Stories Club students, advised by Ms. Hatzimavroudi, to the International Friendship Week, hosted by the Instituto Tecnico Statale in Trieste, Italy, in September 2018, a group of eight Italian students visited Anatolia from April 1 st -7 th , 2019. The students, who were hosted by Anatolia students’ families, attended a variety of gymnasium, lykeion, and IB classes, some of which were organized or adapted to the needs of our guests. Besides the academic component of this exchange visit, however, the students also cooked at our school with the students that hosted them and tried the local cuisine and delicacies, they took a boat trip on the Thermaikos, visited the winery, where Ktima Gerovassiliou wines are produced, as well as a number of regions of the city of Thessaloniki. Finally, they also visited the Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aegai in Vergina and the archaeological site in Pella. Before their departure, they wrote their personal stories, which will be included in the next issue of Stories.
