Caroline Bissell joins the Board having served on the Finance committee since 2017. Throughout her career, Caroline focused primarily on the nonprofit sector, providing financing and expertise to large educational, healthcare, and arts institutions. Professionally she served as Assistant Vice-President at Harris Bank in Chicago as well as holding various positions at Bank of America before becoming the Assistant Vice President for their Not-for-Profit and Healthcare Group. She also held positions at the Illinois Development Finance Authority, the American Library Association, and Berman Lloyd & Associates in Chicago. She received her BA in Asian History from Barnard College, Columbia University (1984) and after years of working in Advertising returned to school to earn a Masters of Management with a concentration in public/nonprofit management and finance at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University (1994). While at Kellogg, she also served as Women in Management’s representative to the Committee on Diversity. She served on the Environmental Advisory Council in the City of Easton, PA, for ten years where she helped write and get passed a solar ordinance as well as the development and implementation of an invasive species management plan for the local waterways. She was chair of the Moravian Academy Library Guild in Bethlehem, PA. She has been involved with educational activities both in the US and in Tanzania and has volunteered in her community as a Judge of Election since 2009.

The fourth Industrial Revolution is a fact. Intelligent and autonomous systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data are concepts that are a reality for the workplace that today's students and learners will find themselves in.

The STEAMing the future program aims to strengthen the necessary skills for Industry 4.0 for students aged 14-18. These competencies focus not only on knowledge, but also on skills, attitudes and values. Digital skills, critical thinking, collaboration, inclusion and gender equality skills are key to achieving the goals set by the United Nations for a sustainable future and are the core of the STEAMing the Future programme.

The STEAMing the Future program offers:

• Workshops at Techlab Xanthi for students aged 14-18 from the area of Xanthi
• Online workshops for students aged 14-18 from all over Greece
• Repository of educational articles and videos.

Anna Papageorgiou STEM Center

In September 2020, the Anna Papageorgiou STEM Center was completed, with a donation from the Papageorgiou Foundation and funding from the USAID. Designed to emphasize its relationship to science, respect the environment and, at the same time, provide the tools required for a teaching based on the new Educational Example of the Anatolia College. It is located on the side of the Gymnasiums and houses the laboratories of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, a Creativity Hall of multiple uses and an open learning space.

All students have access to these areas to implement STEM activities. The vision of the STEM Education Center, through the Anna Papageorgiou STEM Center, is to support and implement modern educational methods that promote a holistic pedagogical approach for the entire educational community.

Through collaborations with organizations and research organizations, the Anna Papageorgiou STEM Center has a vision to enable students and educators from the wider community to become familiar with cutting-edge technologies and participate in innovative educational activities.

Innovation Isle

Fabrication Lab 

The Fabrication Lab (Construction Laboratory) of Anatolia College is equipped with 3D Printers, a cutting and engraving machine (CNC) and tools for manual work. Fab Labs are based on the perception that the student learns through design and construction, with his/her own hands or with the help of a computer, to be totally aware of a cognitive subject that interests him/her personally. Thus our students pass successively from creative thinking and imagination to the design and construction of prototypes and objects and the implementation of their ideas.

Green Education Center

The "Green Education Center" is the first laboratory in Europe which is accommodated in a school and promotes the green approach by providing all the necessary equipment for students to build anything they can imagine. Green education plays a key role in raising students' awareness of environmental issues and shaping the right attitudes and behaviors that can contribute to a sustainable future.

The "Green Education Center" promotes environmental initiatives at school, giving students the opportunity to attend lectures on environmental issues (such as Green Chemistry) and to participate in weekend programs for them and for the whole family, summer programs, but also educational trips.

This year Rainbow will be transformed into an exotic jungle! Children will discover all the wild animals and the environment in which they live. They will learn about endangered species and how they can help them. Which are the strongest animals and which are the fastest? Which animals eat plants and which ones hunt their prey? How many teeth do sharks have, and how do some animals survive in the desert?

During our Rainbow Weekend event you'll get a sneak peek of all that your children will learn and experience this summer!

Οι δεξιότητες του 21ου αιώνα διδάσκονται σε όλα τα επίπεδα της εκπαίδευσης και βοηθούν τους μαθητές/τριες να εξελιχθούν σε έναν διαρκώς μεταβαλλόμενο κόσμο.

Η συνεργασία, η επικοινωνία, ο ψηφιακός και πληροφορικός γραμματισμός , η κριτική και δημιουργική σκέψη, η προσαρμοστικότητα, η ψυχική ανθεκτικότητα, είναι μερικές από τις απαραίτητες δεξιότητες του 21ου αιώνα, και αντικατοπτρίζουν την ιδέα ότι ο κόσμος έχει αλλάξει τόσο ριζικά τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες, που οι ρόλοι της μάθησης και της εκπαίδευσης στην καθημερινή ζωή έχουν επίσης αλλάξει για πάντα.

Σύμφωνα με τον Οργανισμό Οικονομικής Συνεργασίας και Ανάπτυξης (ΟΟΣΑ), "ζούμε σε έναν κόσμο που αλλάζει διαρκώς, και η παραγωγή περισσότερων από τις ίδιες γνώσεις και δεξιότητες δεν αρκεί για την αντιμετώπιση των προκλήσεων του μέλλοντος." Πριν από μια γενιά, οι εκπαιδευτικοί μπορούσαν να περιμένουν ότι αυτά που δίδασκαν θα αποτελούσαν εφόδια για τα παιδιά για μια ζωή. Σήμερα, λόγω των ραγδαίων οικονομικών και κοινωνικών αλλαγών, τα σχολεία πρέπει να προετοιμάσουν τα παιδιά για θέσεις εργασίας που δεν έχουν ακόμη δημιουργηθεί, τεχνολογίες που δεν έχουν ακόμη εφευρεθεί και προβλήματα που δεν ξέρουμε ακόμη ότι θα προκύψουν.

Οι μαθητές/τριες πρέπει να είναι σε θέση να επιλύουν πολύπλοκα προβλήματα, να μαθαίνουν από προηγούμενα προβλήματα και να προσαρμόζονται σε διαφορετικά περιβάλλοντα. Για τον σκοπό αυτό είναι σημαντική η εξοικείωση των εκπαιδευτικών με νέες διδακτικές πρακτικές και εργαλεία, ώστε να αντεπεξέλθουν στις ανάγκες της εκπαίδευσης. 

Στόχος των εργαστηρίων αυτών είναι η παρουσίαση διδακτικών πρακτικών μέσω των οποίων οι μαθητές/τριες καλλιεργούν δεξιότητες που θα τους βοηθήσουν να προσαρμοστούν και να εξελιχθούν στον πραγματικό κόσμο. Είναι πρακτικές που εντάσσονται στο πρόγραμμα σπουδών του Κολλεγίου Ανατόλια. Τις παρουσιάζουν εκπαιδευτικοί  που επιμορφώθηκαν στο παρελθόν σε αντίστοιχα σεμινάρια και εφαρμόζουν τις πρακτικές αυτές στην τάξη.
