The Process
At Anatolia College, the university advising process is designed to evolve with each student’s development. It begins with the Becoming and Empowering Workshops in 9th and 10th grade, which focus on self-discovery, academic interests, and career exploration. In 11th grade, students take part in the advisor-led Evolving Workshops, diving deeper into core values, university research, and personal statement preparation. Throughout 11th and 12th grade, individualized advising ensures that each student receives tailored support in navigating applications, essays, and financial aid. Here is a breakdown per grade:
- Becoming & Empowering Workshops (9th–10th grade): A structured workshop series designed to promote self-discovery and intentional growth.
> Becoming Workshops (9th grade) help students reflect on their interests, values, and early high school experiences
> Empowering Workshops (10th grade) guide students through career exploration, academic preferences, and learning styles
- Advisor-led Evolving Workshops (11th grade): A focused series supporting students in identifying core values, researching universities, and beginning their personal statements
- Individual advising meetings (11th–12th grade): One-on-one support with university research, application strategy, essay development, and financial aid guidance—tailored to each student’s goals and aspirations
