Anatolia College Student Success in the 2020 Panhellenic Exams and with Leading Universities Abroad

Despite the difficulties and upheavals of the past school year due to the COVID – 19 pandemics, the results of the Panhellenic Exams confirmed the historic tradition of excellence and high academic performance that characterize Anatolia College students. Anatolia High School students have been admittance to the tertiary educational institutions of Greece, and many of them in top schools. Among these top-performing students were scholarship recipients, underlying the significance of the educational and social mission of our school. 

A total of 119 Anatolian College students entered Greek universities of which 20 placed among the top scorers in the college of their first choice, while 15 scored more than 16,000 points. The students, their ranking, and their related schools are listed below:

  • Karapostols Isidoros, 8th in the School of Law, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), 18.975 points
  • Kachtsidis Vassilis, 7th in the School of Medicine, AUTH, 18.866 points
  • Kaplanidis Alexandros, 9th in the Department of Accounting and Finance, University of Macedonia (UoM), 18.175 points
  • Voutsa Aikaterini, 3rd in the Department of Business Organization and Management (UoM), 18.150 points
  • Diakaki Natalia, 4th in the School of Dentistry, AUTH, 18.050 points
  • Sarri Dimitra, 9th in the School of Architecture, AUTH, 18.050 points (not including the score in the examination in Drawing)
  • Miliaras Manolis, 5th in the Department of Physics, AUTH, 17.975 points
  • Saridou Maria, 3rd in the Department of International and European Studies, UoM, 17.750 points
  • Dimitriadis Constantinos, 3rd in the School of Civil Engineering, AUTH, 17.725 points
  • Hiladaki Constantina, 5th in the School of Architecture, AUTH, 17.600 points (not including the score in the examination in Drawing)
  • Coutra Constantina, 7th in the School of Architecture, AUTH, 17.775 points (not including the score in the examination in Drawing)
  • Amanatidou Sofia, 9th in the Department of Physics, AUTH, 17.900 points
  • Ioannidou Eleni, 10th in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Thessaly, 16.600 points
  • Faki Aggeliki, 4th in the Department of Physical Education and Sports, AUTH, 16.525 points
  • Takopoulou Melpomeni, 8th in the Department of History and Archeology, AUTH, (a 2019 candidate who succeeded by keeping her grades from last year)

Admission results in prominent universities and colleges in North America and Europe

Additionally, out of the 66 seniors and graduate students of the IB Diploma Program who applied to foreign universities, 59 were admitted to their first-choice universities and colleges, and seven to their second choice, including:

  • US and Canada: New York University, Northwestern University, Bentley University, Case Western Reserve University, Pomona in the US, University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia in Canada
  • United Kingdom: Cambridge, Imperial College, King's College, Edinburgh
  • Europe: TUM in Germany (Munich Polytechnic School of Engineering), Erasmus, Eindhoven, Groningen in Holland.

Four candidates have already been admitted to medical schools in the UK, while three more are awaiting results from medical schools in Italy, Hungary, and the Netherlands.

The successes of these students are even more impressive because most were admitted to top academic institutions in the U.S., in the universities and colleges of their first choice. These students earned scholarships totaling more than $3.6 million and in individual cases $300,000 per student, for four years of study.
