What is Giving Tuesday?
GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. This idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
This year Giving Tuesday will take place on December 2, 2025.
GivingTuesday unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. It is a movement fueled by the power of social media and collaboration, that inspires millions of people across the world to make a difference.
GivingTuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in unity—to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and heal.
GivingTuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe.
People can show their generosity in a variety of ways during GivingTuesday—whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or giving to causes, every act of generosity counts.
In 2020, Anatolia College decided, for the first time, to become part of the GivingTuesday global movement amidst difficult and unprecedented times.
In times of crisis, it is often the power of grassroots generosity that unites and heals communities. In fact, research has shown that people give together on GivingTuesday because they want to be part of a bigger group of people doing good.
The power of collective generosity fueled by more than 800 donations made by members of the Anatolia Community is what brought us together in achieving our goal. As a result, we came together and thanks to our Trustees’ generous contribution and to the donations made by our staff and faculty members, our alums, parents, students, and friends of Anatolia College, we were able to offer a six-year High School scholarship to a worthy student with limited financial means.
In 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 we set the same goal, and each year we achieved it! As of September 2025, we have the pleasure to have 5 #AnatoliaGivingTuesday scholarship students attending Anatolia High School!
What is our goal for December 2, 2025?
We are now launching our 6th #AnatoliaGivingTuesday campaign.
When we participated in Giving Tuesday for the first time in 2020, we set ourselves the ambitious goal of offering one scholarship each year for the next six years. We are delighted to have reached our sixth year and hope that by December 2, 2025, we will have achieved our goal and that in September 2026, we will be able to offer our sixth scholarship to a deserving child.
Don’t forget that for every 100 donations reached, we unlock $5,000, generously donated by our Trustees.
So, let’s do this once again! Let’s reach our target, unlock the full amount of $25,000 and secure a new six-year High School scholarship for a worthy student starting September 2026!
Don’t forget that even the smallest donation matters! Help us reach our goal by making a donation.
What will your donation support?
All funds collected from #AnatoliaGivingTuesday2025 campaign will go towards one six-year Anatolia High School scholarship .
By giving to Anatolia College on or up to December 2, 2025 you provide a student with the opportunity to achieve his/her dreams through high quality education.
Anatolia’s community has always relied on solidarity. When times get tough, we will always have each other. Together we can, once again, make a difference!
Why give to Anatolia College?
- Anatolia College is a non-profit educational institution.
- All of Anatolia College’s revenues are used to fulfill our mission of educational excellence, and there is no single owner or shareholder to benefit from them.
- In this context, all buildings that have been and will be built on campus were made possible by the generosity of caring individuals and institutions.
- Anatolia College's identity and legacy is intricately connected to its commitment to providing talented but economically disadvantaged students with scholarship assistance. Today, approximately 28% of the high school student body receives scholarships or financial assistance based on both merit and need. Since establishing its first school in Thessaloniki in 1924, the Anatolia College Scholarship Program has made it possible for over 1,000 students to attend Anatolia on a full tuition scholarship and for hundreds of students from all parts of Greece, to attend on a full boarding scholarship.
- By giving to Anatolia College, you provide funding so that students, regardless of their financial status, continue to have the opportunity to achieve their dreams through education.
- You help enhance and build a great educational institution that takes the best of the Greek educational model and combines it with the liberal-arts philosophy and entrepreneurial spirit of the American educational model to inspire Greek youth.
- You ensure that Anatolia College students excel in the global economy, by providing world-class facilities.
- You invest in the future of Greece. Over the years, Anatolia College has faced many challenges; boldly rising to face and overcome these challenges has been a source of great national pride. The current challenges are daunting, but Anatolia College will continue to lead and succeed.
