Workshop: Security, Energy, and the Environment in the Eastern Mediterranean
A workshop organized by the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences at ACT with the support of the Michael and Kitty Dukakis Center
Saturday, 18 February 2023, Bissell Library, ACT, 10.30 - 15:30
This one-day workshop deals with issues related, on the one hand, to security and, on the other, to energy and the environment in Greece and, more broadly, in the Eastern Mediterranean. It includes historical and contemporary perspectives with a 20th and 21st-century focus.
The event will be divided into two panels: the first one problematizes security questions at a national and supranational level, taking into account the impact of new threats and technologies on the (re)conceptualization of security and sovereignty in the 21st century. The second panel turns to energy and environmental policies combining them with security concerns. The workshop organization provides ample time for discussion and interaction between students, the broad audience, and the participating scholars.
Certificates of attendance will be provided.
