Distinction of Anatolia Students at the 24th International Conference of Young Scientists
Anatolia IB students Elli Stogiannou and Ariadni Papadopoulou received a silver and bronze medal correspondingly on April 22nd at the 24th International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS 2017). The students were chosen to be on the Greek delegation together with Lykeion student Vasileios Styliadis and all three students were accompanied to Stuttgart during Easter week by the Greek Country Representative for ICYS, Dr. Haido Samaras, in order to present their research work. Students who participate in the ICYS conference present their research to esteemed members of their academic fields and, thus, become country ambassadors of student scientific science innovation. They are judged by a jury of five international judges and educators and they need to be well prepared in the topic that they have chosen to present. Among 200 students and 27 countries from across the world and a rigorous selection process, Anatolia College received the following awards:
Ariadni Papadopoulou also received a bronze medal at the 23rd ICYS conference held last year in Romania for her research work in the Life Sciences field. The Greek delegation also consisted of a team from Athens (Evgenios Kritikos, Timoleon Koniditsiotis and their team leader Dr. Dimitrios Sotiropoulos) who presented their self-constructed drone and discussed the implications of drones for society. Congratulations to the Greek delegation and to the two girls for their significant distinction in the science field. |
