The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year program that corresponds to the 11th and 12th grade Lykeion and prepares students for entry to the best universities all over the world. Students are able to enter the IB program upon completion of the 10th grade (1st grade Lykeion). The IB Diploma is also fully equivalent to the Greek high school diploma (Law 2327, 1995).

Anatolia is a private nonprofit American educational institution. It is in many respects a remarkable and unique institution with a history extending over 130 years. Its integrated educational community features:

All of these divisions, centers and programs are offered among others on our beautiful forty-five acre campus on the road to the scenic suburb of Panorama above the metropolis of Thessaloniki, Greece’s second largest city.

Anatolia has been in existence since 1886. It has faced every type of adversity, endured three wars, been forced to change location three times, including a move from Asia Minor to Greece in 1924. The school has overcome all of these setbacks to emerge as a strong and vibrant international center of learning preparing young men and women for the challenges of the 21st century. Anatolia is currently the home to approximately 4500 students. It not only provides to students a strong foundation for the academic and professional world but also prepares them for global citizenship.

Since its founding in 1886, the name of Anatolia has been synonymous with educational innovation and achievement. The Board of Anatolia College utilizes a committee structure to undertake its work. Board committees provide an organizational platform to deal with specific issues that require specialized areas of expertise. Committee charters outline the duties, responsibilities and expectations of the committee. Committees of the board are expected to be accountable for making timely reports to the full board.

The major activity of the Anatolia Language Testing Office is centered around promoting and administering Michigan State University's MSU-CELC and MSU-CELP English language examinations in Northern Greece.

The office is also responsible for administering a number of standardized university entrance examinations in Northern Greece, including the following:

PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test)

The Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test is held once a year in the third week of October primarily for Anatolia College students. Students from other schools in the region may apply to take this test if they declare their interest in early September and if there are sufficient examination materials available. The test is designed to give prospective candidates for U.S. universities an idea of their state of preparedness in relation to the Scholastic Assessment Tests (SAT Reasoning and SAT Subject Tests), which are required for entry to U.S. universities and which may be taken in their junior and senior years at school.

SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test: Reasoning Test & Subject Tests)

The Scholastic Assessment Tests (SAT, SAT with essay and SAT Subject Tests) are administered at Anatolia College five times a year in October, November, December, January and May. The SAT Subject Test (Language Tests with Listening) is administered only once a year in November. Students who intend applying for admission to U.S. universities are usually required to take these exams. For more details, visit: www.ets.org

Other

The Anatolia Language Testing Office administers examinations on behalf of other examination boards, educational institutions or professional bodies when requested and subsequently authorized to do so.

Anatolia College is governed by a Board of Trustees with headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. Approximately half of the Trustees reside in the New England region while most of the remainder represent other areas of the United States. Several Trustees are Greek residing in Greece. The Trustees maintain an office in Boston to conduct fund-raising and otherwise serve the College.

Distinguished for their professional accomplishments in the areas of law, business, education, philanthropy and scholarship, Anatolia's board members are all volunteers who dedicate their time and resources to supporting the institution. The trustees do not receive a salary and provide their own financial support to Anatolia. Anatolia trustees, many of who are alumni, usually meet twice a year, once in Boston and once in Thessaloniki.

The Boards primary goals are to ensure that Anatolia remains financially strong and continues to provide an exemplary educational program, one of which its students and their parents, its faculty, its graduates, its employees and the citizens of Greece will be forever proud.

Who we are

ANATOLIA COLLEGE is a non-profit educational organization with a long tradition and offering at all levels of education. It was founded in 1886 in Merzifon (Turkey) and in 1924 settled in Thessaloniki. Designed with excellence, ground-breaking educational activities and high-level teaching, ANATOLIA COLLEGE has become an educational center with pan-Hellenic and international recognition. The educational organization maintains one of the largest scholarship programs in Greece, as well as a multifaceted program of social actions and contributions.

The institution has an elementary school (Pre-K6), two middle and high schools, an IB program that prepares students for university study worldwide, and the American College of Thessaloniki (ACT), an institution of higher learning offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a variety of fields. Why do we collect and use personal data?

We collect and use personal data mainly to perform our educational services. We also collect data about suppliers, partners and persons seeking a job or working in our organization.

What type of personal data is collected?

We collect the following: name, phone number, email address, address, job title, profile of studies. Our legal base for personal data collection is the relevant educational legislation.

We may also collect feedback, comments and questions received from you in service-related communication and activities, such as, phone calls, documents, and emails. From our websites we may collect IP-address and actions taken on the site.

ANATOLIA COLLEGE does not collect or process any special categories of personal data, unless regulatory and legislative obligations exist and under the conditions of General Data Protection Regulation (Article 9, paragraph 2).

When do we collect personal data about you?

• When you are using our educational services.

The collection of personal data based on consent from the data subject will be done by using “Consent Forms” that will store documentation related to the consent given by the individual. Individual consents will always be stored and documented in our systems.

Collecting personal data based on contracts

We use personal information for fulfilling our obligations related to contracts and agreements with customers, partners and suppliers.

Collecting personal data based on legitimate interest

We may use and process personal data if it is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by ANATOLIA COLLEGE or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data, in particular where the data subject is a child.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We store personal data for as long as we find it necessary to fulfill the purpose for which the personal data was collected, while also considering our need to answer your queries or resolve possible problems, to comply with legal requirements under applicable laws, to attend to any legal claims/complaints, and for safeguarding purposes.
