The fourth Industrial Revolution is a fact. Intelligent and autonomous systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data are concepts that are a reality for the workplace that today's students and learners will find themselves in.

The STEAMing the future program aims to strengthen the necessary skills for Industry 4.0 for students aged 14-18. These competencies focus not only on knowledge, but also on skills, attitudes and values. Digital skills, critical thinking, collaboration, inclusion and gender equality skills are key to achieving the goals set by the United Nations for a sustainable future and are the core of the STEAMing the Future programme.

The STEAMing the Future program offers:

• Workshops at Techlab Xanthi for students aged 14-18 from the area of Xanthi
• Online workshops for students aged 14-18 from all over Greece
• Repository of educational articles and videos.

Anna Papageorgiou STEM Center

Designed to underscore its connection to science, respect the environment, and provide the means necessary for teaching based on Anatolia College’s new Educational Paradigm, the Anna Papageorgiou STEM Center is located adjacent to the Middle School buildings. It houses Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories, a multi-purpose Creativity Hall, and an open learning space.

All students have access to these spaces to carry out STEM activities. The Anatolia College approach to STEM education, through the Anna Papageorgiou STEM Center, is to support and implement modern educational methods that promote a holistic pedagogical approach for the entire educational community.

Through partnerships with organizations and research institutions, the Anna Papageorgiou STEM Center envisions enabling students and educators from the broader community to come into contact with cutting-edge technologies and participate in innovative educational activities.

The Anna Papageorgiou STEM Center was completed thanks to a donation from the Papageorgiou Foundation and funding from USAID.

Innovation Isle

Fabrication Lab 

The Anatolia College Fabrication Lab is equipped with 3D printers, a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutting and engraving machine, and other crafting tools. Fab Labs are based on the idea that students learn through design and construction, using their own hands or with the help of a computer, in order to master a subject that interests them personally. In this way, our students progress from creative thinking and imagination to designing and building prototypes and objects, and realizing their ideas.

Green Education Center

The Green Education Center is the first such laboratory in Europe housed in a Middle School that promotes a green approach by providing all the necessary equipment so that students can build anything they imagine. Green education plays a crucial role in raising students' awareness of environmental issues and in shaping the right attitudes and behaviors that can contribute to a sustainable future.

The Green Education Center promotes environmental initiatives in the school, giving students the opportunity to attend lectures on environmental issues (such as Green Chemistry) and participate in weekend programs for students and the whole family, summer programs, as well as educational trips.

Future Learning Classroom at Anatolia Elementary School

The STEM program at Anatolia College is enriched with the new Future Learning Classroom, located in the Elementary School. This is an innovative space, equipped with modern technological and scientific tools, such as 3D printers and virtual reality (VR) sets, creating a dynamic learning environment. This classroom enables students to explore and experiment with modern methods, encouraging the development of skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, promoting their overall development and preparing them for the future.

Ποια είναι η καλύτερη εποχή για να επισκεφθεί κανείς την πόλη σου;

Η Βασιλεία είναι η πολιτιστική πρωτεύουσα της Ελβετίας και έχει μεγάλες ενδιαφέρουσες εκδηλώσεις όλο το χρόνο. Ενδεικτικά:
- Τον Ιούνιο εκτός από μπάνιο στον Ρήνο και πεζοπορία στα γύρω βουνά, κάποιος μπορεί να επισκεφτεί το Art Basel, την ετήσια διεθνή έκθεση τέχνης.
- Τον Φεβρουάριο, εκτός από σκι στις Άλπεις, κάποιος μπορεί να συμμετάσχει στο Fasnacht- το μεγαλύτερο καρναβάλι της Ελβετίας, το οποίο είναι τόσο μοναδικό που περιλαμβάνεται στον κατάλογο άυλης πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της UNESCO.

Ποιο μουσείο/αξιοθέατο αξίζει να επισκεφθεί κανείς;

To Fondation Beyeler, το πιο επισκέψιμο μουσείο τέχνης στην Ελβετία. Μία όμορφη διαδρομή μέσα από αμπελώνες και με πανοραμική θέα συνδέει το μουσείο με το Vitra Haus. Τον καθεδρικό ναό (Basel Münster), από τον οποίο μπορεί κανείς να περπατήσει κατά μήκος του ποταμού έως το μουσείο Tinguely.

Τι μπορεί να κάνει κανείς δωρεάν;

Nα παρακολουθήσει συναυλίες, όπως το Αυγουστιάτικο Jazz Festival, κατά τη διάρκεια του οποίου σε κάθε γωνία της πόλης παίζει μία jazz μπάντα, και το Street Parade, όταν η πόλη και το ποτάμι γεμίζει DJs που παίζουν techno μουσική.
Να επισκεφθεί εγκαίνια νέων συλλογών τέχνης στα μουσεία ή γκαλερί μοντέρνας τέχνης και αντικών.

Ποιο εστιατόριο προτείνεις;

Patschifig- τον χειμώνα για το καλύτερο fondue της πόλης, σε μία ιδιαίτερη τοποθεσία.
Cheval Blanc- ένα από τα καλύτερα εστιατόρια του κόσμου, επάνω στο ποτάμι.

Ποια μέρη προτείνεις για διαμονή; 

Την παλιά πόλη.

Υπάρχει κάτι που αξίζει να αγοράσει κανείς;

Από τα πανάκριβα ελβετικά ωρολόγια ως τις ελβετικές γραβιέρες, τις σοκολάτες Läderach, τα παραδοσιακά μπισκότα Basler Läckerli και τα μοναδικά χριστουγεννιάτικα στολίδια και ενθύμια από τον Johann Wanner.

Ποιος είναι ο καλύτερος τρόπος για να γνωρίσει κανείς την πόλη σου;

Ο καλύτερος τρόπος για να εξερευνήσει κανείς τις κρυφές γωνίες και την ιστορία της Βασιλείας είναι με τα πόδια, καθώς πολλά αξιοθέατα βρίσκονται κοντά το ένα στο άλλο.

Ποιο είναι το δικό σου αγαπημένο σημείο στην πόλη;

To Oetlinger Buvette το καλοκαίρι: ένα καφέ-εστιατόριο στις ακτές του Ρήνου.

Ποιο είναι το δικό σου top secret της πόλης που ζεις;

Κάτω από την παλιά πόλη της Βασιλείας βρίσκεται μία άλλη πόλη… η πόλη των «κλικών». Οι «κλίκες» είναι ομάδες μουσικών, οι οποίοι όλο τον χρόνο κάνουν εξάσκηση για το καρναβάλι του Φεβρουαρίου. Ενώ καθημερινά μπορεί κανείς να ακούσει μόνο κάποιες νότες από τις πρόβες τους, την περίοδο του καρναβαλιού ανοίγουν για το κοινό τις υπόγειες στοές τους, προσφέρουν φαγητό, ποτά και stand up comedies.

This year Rainbow will be transformed into an exotic jungle! Children will discover all the wild animals and the environment in which they live. They will learn about endangered species and how they can help them. Which are the strongest animals and which are the fastest? Which animals eat plants and which ones hunt their prey? How many teeth do sharks have, and how do some animals survive in the desert?
