Literature as Pleasure, Experience, and Play for Middle and High School Students at Anatolia College 3rd Student “Logos through Art” Festival
On November 28 and 29, 2025, Anatolia College hosted for the third consecutive year the Student Literature Festival “Logos through Art,” an event of creativity and expression organized by students for students. Featuring presentations, interactive workshops, competitions, and games, this year’s Festival took place over two days at the Κassandra Center for Educational Excellence / IBDP Building. Within its framework, a pilot additional workshop was also organized in Athens, in collaboration with the 2nd Elementary School of Glyka Nera.
At the Opening Ceremony on Friday, following a poetry recitation by Ms. A. Seridou, the well-known “Archaeostoryteller,” Mr. Theodoros Papakostas, convinced us that “Antiquity is child’s play.” At the Closing Ceremony on Saturday, author Mr. I. Zourgos presented his new book Bronze Thresholds (Patakis Publishers) as a starting point for a discussion on literary writing. In between, poet Mr. K. Plastiras praised the students for their initiative and highlighted the role of literature in our lives.
Across six different time slots, participating students had the opportunity to choose among a wide range of workshops (30 in total) covering diverse themes—from historical fiction and poetry to crime fiction, parody, comics, the combination of literature with music and with visual arts, cinema, journalistic discourse, and Artificial Intelligence. In these workshops, students engaged creatively and articulated their own voices. Notably, four female students themselves offered a workshop on Artificial Intelligence. At the same time, workshops were also held for educators, focusing on Scratch and Makey Makey, composing music for characters, the principles of law in literature, and Artificial Intelligence.
Furthermore, at the initiative of the Senior and Junior Ambassadors, the Festival formed part of the “Schools as Ambassadors of the European Parliament 2025–2026” program. In particular, students became familiar with European Union policies on Artificial Intelligence, genres, aspects, and examples of European literature, as well as migration and ecology, and how these are reflected in literature. Finally, one of the workshops focused on a playful activity related to this specific program (#10yearsEPAS).
Overall, the 3rd Student “Logos through Art” Festival offered participating students the opportunity for a genuine exploration of the multifaceted world of language and literature. At the same time, it served as a bridge, reminding young and old alike that language unites and develops us—especially when we are given the space to experiment, discover it, and come to love it.
