87th International Session of the European Youth Parliament
The 87th International Session of the European Youth Parliament was a truly unique experience in all my years at the school: an entire different universe. Qualities fostered in this institution include acceptance, diversity and creativity and teamwork. An EYP session is more than a mere simulation, in which you get to represent another’s stance, be it a nation or an organisation. In EYP and especially in an International Session, through fun yet meaningful team building exercises, academically challenging committee work and passionate debates during the General Assembly, the notion of individuality is emphasised, while collective results are exalted. What I keep from Vilnius, except from the picturesque sceneries, are chiefly the friends from all over Europe that I’ve made, the endless nights we spent drafting resolutions or playing games, the various culinary delicacies from all over the EU I enjoyed during Eurovillage and finally the anxiety as well as feeling of accomplishment I harnessed when I got selected to deliver a speech in front of a 300 people audience during EYP Talks. This session was the highlight of my entire year and I believe all Anatolia students should join the politically active european youth and opt to make a change!
