Visit to the Netherlands for the LEMUN
On November 16th, 12 students and two teachers traveled to the Netherlands to participate in the Leiden Model United Nations Conference (LEMUN) organized by the Stedelijk Gymnasium, one of the oldest Grammar Schools of the country, which specializes in Ancient Greek and Latin. As delegates, we met fellow delegates from countries such as Nepal, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK, Finland and more. We worked as members of a multicultural conference for three days. Meeting people from various countries was one of the highlights of our participation in this international conference.
Before and after the conference, we toured Amsterdam’s historic center and even visited the Rijksmuseum, a renowned art museum. Our trip to the Netherlands was an eye-opening experience. We were exposed to a completely different way of living and thinking. The Dutch love for bicycles and their excellent driving skills impressed us the most.
Overall, despite the cold, our visit to Amsterdam was fun, interesting, and somewhat peculiar, as we saw things completely unknown to the Greek culture. It was a thrilling experience that enriched us all with memories and moments for a lifetime.
