After dedicating several years of class time to learning the German language, forty-six 3 rd form students traveled to Germany from March 20 th to March 24 th with chaperone-teachers Ms. Goula, Ms. Papatheohari, Ms. Tsianti, and Mr. Dimosiaris. During their 5-day cultural visit, the students visited cultural sites in Frankfurt, Luxembourg, and Trier. In Frankfurt, they attended a class at the Hellenic High School of Frankfurt, visited the German Stock Exchange at the Börse Haus, and walked along the Main River. During their day-trip to Luxembourg, students toured the historic center and visited the Nationalmuseum von Kunst und Geschichte to learn about art and history. Finally, in Trier, students visited several museums concerning art and folk tradition (the Spielzeugmuseum and the Museum am Dom). They also visited the birthplace of Karl Marx, now a museum on his life and works, and the Waldorf Schule Trier, a German school, where they were informed about the German educational system and the school’s philosophy. Overall, students enjoyed learning about German culture and history as a great supplement to their growing language skills!
