11th Annual 3K Charity Run: Running for A Worthy Cause
This year, Anatolia’s 11th Annual 3K Charity Run took place in sunny weather. A total of 481 participants—students, faculty, and staff—ran for the Center of Special Education, an association which offers day care services to people with mental disabilities and Down syndrome.
Forty-seven elementary students started the run, followed by 395 gymnasium and lykeion students. In the lykeion, Lazaridis Stavros (4Β/Β) and Kiourktsi Fenia (4Β/Α) came in first place for boys and girls respectively. In the gymnasium, the first place winners were Ntigkmpasanis Antonis (1C/B) and Kotziagkiaouridou Argyro (2Β/Β).
Evangelos Manitakis and Grace Monk won the staff and faculty category for men and women respectively.
Special reference should be made to the A’ gymnasium, which had, as usual, the most participants--161 sign-ups! Overall, the school raised 3,000 euros for the Center. Thank you to all participants and to those who donated towards a great cause!
