Anatolia College students interpret Covid -19 in an inspired Photo Contest by the 1st Lykeion/IB Parents’ Association
During the month of March 2021, the 1st Lykeion/IB Parents’ Association invited lykeion and IB students to participate in a photography contest with the title “Memories from the time of CoVid-19-CAPTURE COVID”.
The aim of the contest was to challenge young people to become creative and to record the way in which they see the impact of CoVid-19 in their lives through photography. Thirty-one (31) students rose to the challenge and submitted almost 90 photographs, which were evaluated initially by the nine-member board and then by a professional photographer, Ms. Iosifina Svania, and Art teacher Christina Douris. On April 11, representatives of the Parents’ Association announced the results of the contest to all participants.
Foteini Giechou Vlachou, who ranked first for her photograph “Global” was awarded a Fujifilm Instax + camera, donated by FUJIFILM HELLAS, and a photo album; Sotiris Karagiannis, who ranked second for his photograph “Isolation”, received a 100-euro gift voucher and a book about photography; and Kyveli Perrou, who ranked third for her photograph “The truth behind the mask”, received a 50-euro gift voucher and a book about photography.
